Our Thanksgiving Road Trip in Snapshots

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! We are spending our holiday with family in Southern California. It feels like we’ve stepped back into summertime here! We are thawing out and soaking up the sun while enjoying time visiting friends and family. Just wanted to pop in to wish you all a wonderful holiday. Here are some snapshots from our road trip down south!

We split the drive up into two days. Since we left in the evening, we drove about 3.5 hours the first night. We checked into a Motel 6 to get a little shut eye. Mojo was antsy that night, so none of us got a full night’s sleep. Surprisingly, we still did pretty well getting up at the break of dawn and hittin’ the road early the next morning!

Mount Shasta looked majestic in that moody morning light. We had a beautiful view of the snowy peak and cracked the window to get whiffs of the brisk mountain air. If you ever go through Mount Shasta in the morning, you’ve gotta make a pit stop at Seven Suns Coffee & Cafe! We got breakfast burritos and coffee and it was F-R-E-S-H.

About 9 hours later we made it through the grapevine and into The Valley.  If we had more time, we would have done the scenic drive down the coast. But the quicker route down the 5 got us here in about 13 hours! We are grateful to have had a safe drive without any hiccups.

Whether you’re traveling for the holidays or staying close to home, we wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving day : ) Enjoy!
